Activity: Parades in Auburn, Renton, others?

I'm a new Smart Owner, and had a idea about entering Smart Car's into some of the summer parades common around Puget Sound.

Renton has a big parade associated with their Renton River Days (Renton River Days) on July 26th.

What is the interest here in having a group of Smart Cars (I think 10-20 cars... maybe more), entered in to the parade?

Auburn also has a parade, but it is for model year 1959 and older only.
If we wanted to try to skirt the rules, we could try to enter as a "Drill Team", and do some synchronized, patterned driving along the parade route. That would require some advance practice.... but could be done.

I'd like to have a discussion on this thread: What is your interest in participating in parades? Do you have any experience with parade entries before?

I don't know about parades, my last time in a parade I was carrying a sousaphone and was in the eighth grade...1954.
