Cherry stand smart

Been having a ball the last few weeks! We have a small mom and pop business in a very small town and one of the things we do each year to keep the wolf away from the door is sell local cherries in the carport in our parking lot.

Got to thinking and backed the smart into the carport-cherry stand to see what people's reactions would be. Folks are amazed by the car and constantly ask questions. I wouldn't be surprised if Penske gets a hundred more reservations as a result of our smart's exposure. People are VERY interested with very little talk about it being too small.

This year cherry prices are up nearly as much as gas and the smart puts a smile on people's faces before they hear the bad news about prices. Dave

We stopped at a watermelon stand on the way back from picking up my parent orphan last week. For the 10 minutes we stopped they had a lot of people stop to see the cars and buy melons. They gave us an extra melon "just because".

I'm also a small businessman (computer sales & service). When my wife and I noticed how much attention our fortwo attracted, we had the rear window lettered with our company info. A fellow had a computer failure today. One of his customers told him about the computer guy that has been driving all over town in a red smart... I got a call and I'm fixing his computer this weekend... I do believe that $30 in vinyl lettering just paid for itself.

Parking the car in front of my store like in the graphic below my handle shows doesn't hurt in attracting attention either...
