Cruise to LIGO Hanford Observatory

FrHedders,

Thanks for the invite to the cruise today to the LIGO Hanford Observatory. Cool and informative!

AND

Our two smarts got to join classic cars and Vettes, numbering around 30 (?) and cruise out to LIGO for a presentation and tour.

I hope Admin Nancy got a pic of the '63 Split Window parked on the sidewalk behind us!

Actually I hope you got pics of most of the classis cars

to share.

What a day. Admin will get her pictures on pretty soon. She absorbed so much info today her head is about to explode. Good thing she isn't a blonde. Kinda funny that with all the corvettes and hotrods they show cased our Smarts at the entrance.

Here are a few pictures I took on the LIGO trip. Not the best, but better than none, I guess! Timo, feel free to comment, or correct any errors in my captions! Sorry, I didn't get pictures of many vehicles. We were ushered into the auditorium and out the look at tunnels and people were leaving before I got a chance!

This is trying to prove the Big Bang Theory. They haven't measured anything yet- but they are trying hard. There is an identical LIGO near Baton Rouge, La. and 3 other similar units in the word. All trying to do the same thing. It was kinda fun running with the street rods and corvettes. All the science made my head hurt.

That was science? I thought they were just shooting fricking laser beams up and down those tunnels to detect galactic interference...

I made the mistake of mentioning to her, as nice as I could be, that the pictures were some what lame. I now posess my very own digital camera and user instructions to go with it. That 63 split window was a Walla Walla car.
