Finally got our car

Well, I'm no longer waiting for my smart. We took delivery yesterday, 1/23, from smart center Seattle. We were the 4th delivery in Washington.

We ordered a few accessories but did not get the extended warranty. I want to live with the car for a while before making that investment. Documentation fee for those interested is $50. The car does generate all the attention that I'd heard about.

Ethan was there and supervised the process.

Peter Agerton took me out for a nice long test drive (including I-5) in their demo car then turned me loose with my wife with the demo car while he started the paperwork. We came back and added a few accessories, turned down all the add-ons (Window etching, Lojack, Gap Insurance, Interior and exterior protection packages, Extended Warranty) and drove off about 2-3 hours later. Vicky did the actual "delivery".

They're still in the "crawl before you walk stage" but that's understandable in a brand new dealership that had only delivered 3 cars before ours.

Take heart all of you early reservers. They have a LOT of cars in stock.

Congratulations, Dancote. Nice looking car. Did you drive round the sound, or ferry it? Hoping the ferry system will smile favorably on the smart and give a discount rate. Dream on, eh? When I get mine, we will have to get them together to rub noses. Baby smarts, maybe? Too much fun!
