How do I stay with Ethan in Seattle??
I have had my Orphan since April 28, 08 and I finally got my configuration email today. I am going to configure another baby, (not sure yet if I'm configuring him for me or for some lucky duck who'll get their own orphan) but here's the problem. The call came from the PORTLAND Smart center, and I want my car to be out of/at/with Ethan in Seattle. I do NOT want to pay/give an orphan to (depending on what I decide) a dealership that I have heard plenty of complaints about, and beyond that, Ethan and Loren and BJ were/are FABULOUS and they EARNED my loyalty. Plus, if I do end up owning 2, I most certainly want to be able to say they were both born at the same facility!!
Anyone in the wise, wise Smart universe know how I go about making sure my car comes through SmartCenterSeattle?? Ethan, got any suggestions?? I placed my reservation at your place of business, shouldn't they understand I want to patronize you?!?!

Caravine - I thought you could change delivery dealerships at configuration? I've never done it, I just heard the rumor. I guess if you haven't seen that option in the config. maybe it doesn't exist. I know this is of absolutely no help!!

My question fell on deaf ears at the time my delivery info came through. I pointedly asked Ethan through a post on the SEA dealer thread how I could take my delivery in SEA instead of PDX. Nada.
Except for Duner... he's offered the same info to you as he had given me
I'd call the smart800 number and ask...

All well and good there Duner... but I'd call.
"When you are invited to the reservation confirmation program"-- is that the same as configuring?
I didn't "see" any opportunity to change my dealer anywhere along the way.
Just saying...

It does say if "there are multiple facilities near you, you may have the opportunity to select the smart center of your choice." I'd call smartUSA and request scSeattle. Can't hurt!!

Caravine,
I am sorry to hear that you don't want to take delivery of your smartie through smart center Portland. Since we opened nearly a year ago, we have continually tried to improve our process and communication with customers so we can deliver an excellent experience. Our customer satisfaction scores are currently at 97% and we work hard to maintain a high level of service.
I would love to assist you with your transaction, but if you choose to go to Seattle, I would understand too since you feel a loyalty and relationship with them.
