Marty's Smartie meets Rocky Raccoon! :>(

Well, I was cruising along at 60 mph on I-5 about midnight last night returning from my Godson's graduation ceremony in Washougal, WA. It had been a fun day! I got to see the family, attend the graduation, and I even found out that my Goddaughter was expecting! A GOOD day! Until a very LARGE raccoon in the vicinity of Castle Rock decided that he wanted to cross the interstate as I was passing through. By the time I saw him, it was too late. I stabbed at my brakes more out of reflex than anything else, because it just wasn't going to accomplish anything! He came from the left side, and the collision was on the right side by the fog light. It busted the fascia, the fog light is evidently somewhere on I-5, and the right front fender will probably have to be replaced...........which means my graphics will ALSO have to be reordered & replaced!! I'm hoping beyond hope that it'll all come together and everything will be done in time for the smartcenter Seattle & Top Foods "Show & Shine" this next Saturday in Edmonds, WA. Even if I don't have my graphics replaced, I'm at least hoping to have the car repaired in time! I DO have photos, but I can never figure out how to get them to post here, so......... If anyone (Dunerunner???) wants me to e-mail them so that you can see the damage, let me know! Wish me luck on being made whole by next Saturday!

Marty, you have such great luck!!

Send me the pics and I'll get them posted in this thread, I'm glad everyone but the raccoon (Who is probably sporting your fog light) is OK!

Smartie Damage

$1109.06. That's the estimate for the repairs to my car, not counting the $300 to have my decal(s) replaced! BJ said that it even busted a radiator support. He said "That must have been one BIG raccoon!" It was!!! He hopes to have everthing finished in time for the Saturday "Show & Shine." It's doubtful that I'll be able to have the decals replaced by then, but I'm gonna try! I'm just really, really glad that he hit closer to the right wheel, and not the airbag sensor!!! That would have been a real handfull..... trying to maintain control at 60 mph with a face full of airbag!! I'll shoot the photos your way, Scott!

Just got off the phone with my graphics guy, and my new graphics will be in on Wednesday, so if all goes really well, the car will be back to normal (including graphics) in time for the Seattle Show & Shine in Edmonds, WA on Saturday!!
