Mercer Island (Seattle) Smart tour and picnic

As mentioned previously I am trying to put together a Meeting and drive of Mercer Island followed by a picnic lunch.

The soonest day I can do it is June 8th, 2008. Does that work for the rest of the group?

I figured we would beet at Starbuck on the Island around 10:00 then take a lap of the island followed by a picnic lunch in the hilltop park.

How does this sound to everyone?

Wouldn't work for me on a Sunday! Saturdays work.........Sundays.......sometimes, but the 8th. I'm in at 1100 am! The 7th. would work for me!

Hurrah to you for volunteering to attempt this feat of starting a Northwest Smart Group ! From one who is the organizer for a huge car club, my personal opinion is that the downtown Mercer Island Starbucks is very congested especially as no one knows their way around any more. Meeting at the Rite Aid - no customers, big parking lot - might be a better thought for a place to begin your event ........ Circle your Wagons at that point, go through drive-in at McDonald's so everyone can get what they need, and then head out for a tour of the Island... West Mercer Way South to East Mercer Way North, and on to Luther Burbank Park for your "Bring Your Own Picnic" meet & greet ! That way, the group is driving on the Lake-side all the way.......... works well if the "Wagon Master" lists (as you have before) those who respond to attending, mentioning their color for easier identification. Please plan to pull over on occasion so resident's can pass - they aren't happy with being held up for Specialty Group's day trips !

Gonna try to work a "switch" with someone at work for that date so that I can make it! It sounds like WAY too much fun to miss!!!
