There are 11 signed up to go right now, and 2 more trying to make it. Whether everyone shows or not is anyone's guess! :>) I truly plan on being there, and I've already got reservations in Leavenworth for Saturday night! :>)
Here's a bonus for coming to the May 2nd rally to Leavenworth. That is the day of McLendon's hanging plant sale and pancake breakfast. So stop at McLendon's in Woodinville around 7:15 and have breakfast and then to the Woodinville Costco for gas and on up the road to Safeway in Monroe. Now how could anyone refuse that offer?!?
Well, only 5 more days until the Monroe to Leavenworth run! So far, 21 folks (member count) have signed up; so with friends, spouses, partners, and significant others, it looks like we're going to have a pretty nice turnout! I'm looking forward to another "smart" getaway, and to seeing Leavenworth at a time when I'm NOT having to practice my ice-skating skills on the streets there. The last time we were there, it was the first week of January, and the streets were in HORRIBLE condition, as were the sidewalks! So...... looking forward to spending Saturday night there and seeing Leavenworth & the surrounding countryside again!! Hope to see some more folks signing on before Saturday! Let's see if we can make 35 cars/members to show the folks in Portland that we can have BIG numbers too!!!
oh poooooo. I won't be able to make it. It is the week before finals at the University ('dead week') and all the kiddos suddenly remembered that they better study so requested a lot of time off. I personally think it's their last chance to party hard, but then I'm old and jaded!!!
Sorry I can't be with you on this adventure......... you will surely turn a lot of heads!!!
Just a suggestion - SCOA is recommending all Smart Cars turn their headlights on WHEREVER and WHENEVER YOU DRIVE....... it adds to your safety big time. Caravans in particular need to have their headlights on, and be aware that if you do have to drive below the speed limit, the law states you must put on your four way blinkers........
Stay safe and have fun !!!

Since we live in the Leavenworth area, we decided to drop in on the gathering after work (we work Saturdays 'til noon) Got to Gustav's about 12:30 pm and were told by a server the gathering was upstairs, so up we went. Place was packed, maybe 50 people, no empty seats, no hellos, so after a bit, we went downstairs and had lunch. Went out to the parking lot after and saw maybe 30 smarts lined up.
Congratulations, Seattle smarties on a large gathering. Looked like fun.
Had a great time on the Monroe to Leavenworth run. Met nice people, saw beautiful country, had fun. My total trip miles was 621 miles with an average of 42.4 mpg.

Wish you would have given a "shout-out" to let us know you were there.......and a fellow "smartie!" The place was packed, but we would have worked something out and made room for you to join us if you'd have letten us know you were there! When my wife and I got upstairs, there weren't any seats left, so I snagged a waitress & asked her if I could clear off an extra table they were using for other things, and grabbed a couple of extra chairs, pushed it up against another table, and voila....table for six! I was way back in the corner, and I remember seeing some folks come up the stairs and then turn around and leave, but I had no way of knowing whether it was fellow smarties, or just another customer looking for a place to sit! So......next time, don't be shy! Just yell out and let someone know who you are. We'll MAKE room for ya!!!
