Jetfuel....not sure where you are that you can pull people over just to see their license! HERE....... you still need probable cause! At least if you plan on being a LEO for very long!!
Godfather..... I think you may have actually missed the point! There are NO markings, NO signage, NO city limit sign......NOTHING to indicate any change. So if I wasn't aware of it as a prior LEO.....how could the general motoring public be aware! NOT winnable in court, for exactly the reason that SuperGeek stated......"Lack of signage!" You can't cite someone for something that a "reasonably prudent person" would have no way of knowing! You have to have something to indicate that there's a change to the speed limit, and the sign to indicate THAT is 1/2 mile farther down the road.
Anyway......I just e-mailed the Sheriff about the entire situation! Seems the more I thought about it, the less I like the idea of being pulled over & spotlighted for no valid reason, e.g. NOT doing anything wrong.....NO probable cause!!!
