Ok. Last Chance: Anyone want their smart early?

I am configuring today. I have a gret relationship with smart center Portland, and THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL.

If you want to work with Clint when my car arrives in 3-4 months, pm me today. He is well aware of my interest in helping someone achieve their smart goal.

I don't make a dime. Portland gets another car. You will be working with Clint and the dealership, and only configuring your car through me.

Again, this is perfectly within the guidelines, and in the spriit of the smart philosophy. All I'm trying to do is help someone in our area get a smart a lot sooner than (s)he expected.

So, if you want a car earlier than your wait time, please pm me, and I'll configure for you.

Your reservation is non-transferable. Any attempt to assign or transfer your reservation will result in the cancellation of your reservation and a return of your reservation fee without interest

If she is able to help someone (and not even profit by it), what's your big concern?

I think it is an unselfish offer to SCOA members.

Your post smacks of 'Envy' considering your ordeal to get your car.

It's impossible for this to be criminal or vehicle code violation.

I say, "kudos"

My concern is for Clint and Portland Smartcenter-
I miss the days of envy-
I say kudos, if this works-
But, how is this perfectly within the guidelines, and in the spirit of the smart philosophy?

If she wants to go 100% above-board, she can put together a contract whereby she takes delivery of the car and then immediately signs the title over to the buyer. Something to the effect of:
For the consideration of the sum of $99 dollars ($99.00), ______ of ____, Oregon (hereafter referred to as "Seller") does hereby agree to sell to _____ of ____,__ (hereafter referred to as "Buyer"), upon my acquisition of same, one smart car configured as described below:

lskjdlkfjsdlk
lksjdfjlksdfkdjflk
lksdlkfjldsjfkjd

The VIN of this vehicle is not yet known but the mileage will be under 100 at the time of vehicle transfer.

The vehicle sale price shall be the total price paid by Seller, including, but not limited to, any fees and taxes levied by automobile dealer, Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles, federal, state, and local governments.

Should Seller be unable to obtain a vehicle matching the description above within a time period of 270 days, Seller shall refund the $99 fee to Buyer. Buyer agrees that refund of fee makes Buyer whole and no further fees, damages, or compensation of any kind shall be warranted or sought.
Note that I'm not a lawyer and that's just something I dashed off to convey the concept of how such a contract might be structured. Given the low risk that Susie is taking, it's probably not necessary to come up with anything too complex.

It's a really nice offer of her to do this and I hope that she's able to help some other SCOA member avoid the months of wait.

Orphanbeggar:

Since you seem intent upon demonizing me, please note that you have disqualified yourself from this evil person's Orphan.

You see, I talk to Clint all the time. Wouldn't it be nice to pair an Orphan Seeker with an Orphan Maker?

No conspiracies. No underhandness. No sale between me and anyone. I'm not buying this car, I'm configuring this car, full well knowing it will be an Orphan at my dealership. I'm trying to matchmake.

I paid money to configure this car, and here is an opportunity to configure YOUR smart EARLY.

It used to be that beggars couldn't be choosers. I'm changing that for somebody.

Anybody but you.

Matchmaking

Not my intent to demonize anybody-
The matchmaker concept is brilliant!
It is generous of you (at the expense of waiting reservers).
I may take this to a larger-scale level.

(my begging ended last July-need to change my user-name)

Suzie, I wish you luck I totally understand what you are trying to do! Maybe you can get someone on Saturday at the Jeopardy fling at Chinook Winds. I'll see if any of my family members near there will do it. They are all around Salem, Silverton, Mt Angel, Albany, Beaverton, Portland area. Well for me Im in South Texas LOL so I can't get another one I have mine and waiting on another then another after that since I want triplets then eventually sextuplets one of each color my dream since can't have children! Best of luck
My family members near there

Hi, Dubblxtc,

Sure thing. I've got a few more days, and there are so many configurations...low to high end...and the dealer 'add ons' have dipped off to keep prices lower for obvious reasons, I've been told.

If a match isn't presented, I think I'll configure a pretty basic coupe. This is Oregon, after all, and for most, I think, a cab is a luxury - at least that's how I feel driving mine.

I do love the heated seats, the pods, the frog lights, and CD player...but that's just me, and this was the last car I'm ever going to have, and the only one I've ever really *loved.* She's loaded.

I'd love someone to get their 'perfect smart.' And, I'd just go nuts trying to pick a color. What would be so cool, is to trade the new smart's white panels for my silver, but that would mean adding on the invisible bra protection, which I love too, from the dealer - which may or may not be someone's cup o' tea.

So, the possibilities are endless, and I'm hoping for a great outcome for another smartie.

I live very close to Chinook Winds, and would enjoy meeting any interested Orphan Seekers. Open invitation to pm me for contact info. I think Clint works at least one day weekends - maybe both.

So, thanks, Dubblxtc! Here's to another smart adventure.
