The drive to Issaquah today will be more work than I would have hoped for. It's been drizzly and breezy here this morning. It's very windy near Ellensburg heading toward the pass-- don't expect top mpg's today!
It's overcast and some chance of rain on most of my route, so car cleanup will wait until I get to Issaquah.
It was great to have time to sit down together before all the sill-i-ness begins with our amazing appearance at the North Bend celebration tomorrow !! I cannot imagine how incredible it will be to have our THREE PINKS together in one place.......... I was in Seventh Heaven escorting your PINK, Zippy, through Bellevue !! Heads were swirling around, thinking they were seeing DOUBLE !!!!
What a great group of Smart Smarts performing GREAT FEATS of Derring DO to the delight of all the kiddies - big and little - lining the streets of North Bend for our AWESOME parade to celebrate the town's 100th Birthday !! Tim made numbers for our Smarts and each was carefully applied to the sides of our beauties. The number, of course, was 100, in honor of the event !
We had time to meet and re-meet at the Outlet Mall in the AM, then proceed to the staging area for the parade !! We celebrated PINK DAY with respect and dignity to the 3 states represented and toasted with a group photo and PINK ICED cookies !!
After a successful presentation of our great vehicles the group dined together at Jay Berry's Pizza n' Pasta House in North Bend. YUM
It was such a pleasant day with special time to chat and learn not only more about our wheels, but one another as well !! Thanks to everyone for making this day together one for our memory books !!
Very nice round-up, Sue. The total smart count for the day was 12, which is pretty dog-gone good, considering we only had 9 sign up.
I loved meeting new friends and paling around with "old" friends. This might be my last meet for a while, so the memories are especially sweet. Thank you all.
Holy Cow - I will not hide my deep respect and admiration for both you Suze, and Dani, driving all the way from your home towns - in two different states - to be part of this wonderful small town event !! You are what I refer to as the Twenty First Century Pioneers, and I truly am so proud of your Incredible Passion and Willingness to come so far just to be with the Northwest Smart-ies! Just having you both be here at this event brought out other Smart supporters !! WOW - You are both INCREDIBLE !!! Thanks for making the day sooooooooo PERFECT !!
Well, ladies........ you missed this one!! This was one of the booths at the Mt. Si Festival that Terri and I attended after the parade! So...... in honor of the "Pink Ladies" of the Mt. Si Festival Parade........Sue (Pink Lady), Suze (Suze), Dani (FishLady), as well as Jeri Jonasen (my co-worker & a breast cancer SURVIVOR), I give you "The Pink Booth!" BTW....as the others have already said......good friends, good food, good times!!!
