I remember one year during the month of May, Al Unser Jr DROVE the Wienermobile around the Indy area as part of an Oscar Mayer promotion.

THAT was cool!

Big Critter,

Were you at Crossroads? We saw the Wienermobile there at Tops last Friday. Didn't have my camera and my phone shot isn't as clear as yours. I pulled up beside it about lined up with the back bumper. Way, way shorter.

MANY years ago (OK, about 15) I used to deliver food to planes as well as clean them. One night I got a radio call saying that one of my teams had left some food out by the last plane that had landed earlier. After about 5 minutes of arguing they said they wanted the supervisor (me) and my entire team out at that plane to look at the HUGE amount of food that was left out right beside the plane. When we got out there they had the "Weinermobile" parked right beside the plane, they thought I'd get a kick out of it since I liked cars so much.

It was a blast as I checked it inside and out a lot but I didn't ask to drive it but persuaded the driver to give me lots of promotional items. Pretty much a lot of fun and something odd as this all happened at around 2:00am in the morning.

No, I read in Friday's paper (The Olympian) that it was going to be at the Top Food store in Lacey on Saturday. Since they're just down the street from me, I KNEW I had to get a photo of smartie next to the wienermobile! :>) I was going to get in front, but I didn't want to disrupt the folks coming to look, and I 'kinda liked this angle better anyway! I like the way the shot came out.

Yep, Suze, that's Marty's smartie! :>) Or should I say "Smarty Marty's smartie?" That's what a number of people at work now call me...... Smarty Marty! The wienermobile was just up the street Saturday morning at the Top Food store, and I just couldn't resist getting smartie's photo with it! I'm planning a calendar with smartie parked in front of strange or unusual "stuff", like the "largest egg in the world" in Winlock, WA.....the "Yardbird" in Chehalis, etc.
