Lincoln City, OR here, and have seen a bumblebee twice now on three different highways; one a few weeks ago on Hwy 101 by Beverly Beach, headed south; bumblebee heading east on Hwy 18 around Rose Lodge last week; and a few days ago, another yellowjacket(?) headed west on Hwy 20.

Oh, and yesterday, a white coup parked at the Little Theatre in Lincoln City. I was working, and it was gone an hour later.

I'm loving it. Lots of us popping up. Gosh, pretty soon we may be a *movement.*

Saw a black hardtop right behind me on NW Lovejoy in Portland early last week. I had the top down and waved backward. It was the first one outside the dealership I've seen, apart from one of the 450s the city purchased last year (which was parked), and it was the only one I've encountered in two months of driving around town.

There don't seem to be a lot of smarts on the east side of Portland yet. I'll get over to you people on the coast one of these days.

I've seen 2 Smarts on the east side of Portland in the last month or two - a yellow going south on 205 around Foster and a Blue smart pulling into a Clackamas neighborhood off Sunnyside Rd. I was in my Merlot Red Smart for the second encounter and beeped and waved like crazy but I think the driver had other things on the mind (like oncoming traffic). I'll be commuting the 205 stretch from Clackamas to Wilsonville weekdays, myself. SE, though not SE "Portland."

Just saw a white smart with a geometric decal/paint design on the hood and doors, and a custom plate ("VERY") parked near SE 37th & Yamhill in Portland.

Don't know if it's connected, but one of the houses on that block has an old-style Mini.

Yellow/Silver today!!

For me, smarts are still a rare sighting, so this was really fun.

This afternoon aroung 4:50 I saw a beautiful yellow/silver in the right lane, lower deck of the Marquam bridge. It was bumper to bumper and I saw him at the last minute. (I was 3 lanes over and movig quite a bit faster) I honked but don't think he noticed me. What's a girl have to do to get noticed?

Seeing another smart is like instant relief from traffic stress.

Saw a Bumblebee northbound Hwy 101 about 2PM Saturday the 21st on my way to Lincoln City from the Pelican Brewery. Much waving and honking as it was a swarm (borrowed from Micro Machine), 3 bumblebees.

Then a Blue/black Cabriolet opposit direction (Northbound) Hwy 101 just north of Lincoln City on our way home. Honked and looked in the rear view in time to see a wave out the top of the cabrio.

2nd sighting this week!

Saw a blue/black passion heading south on Bethany blvd (in NW Beaverton) around 11:30 this morning. She was behind me before I even knew it. I waved but got no return wave.

Oh, well - another perfect day in Oregon and now I know there's another smart in my neighborood!

Dunerunner - Thanks for combining these threads. I'm thinking the more common we smarts become, the less we'll feel like announcing when we see one. But I heard a long time ago that smartcenter portland expects to deliver just 650 cars this year. That sounds like just a handfull to me and I imagine seeing another will put a smile on my face for a long time to come.
