There was a hardtop bumblebee parked just off of SE Grand in Portland Wednesday evening.

For the first time in weeks I saw another Smart on the Portland roads and it was in my neighborhood turning right across from Clackamas High School! A red Smart with Black tridon. I waved out the open top of my cabrio, met with big smiles and a wave back. I'm not alone!

Saw a silver/black (could have been a cabrio) on Saturday afternoon at a pool and billiards store (I think it may have been Golden West) on Johnson Creek Blvd. in Portland.

Saw that old familiar smile in my rear view mirror. White/Silver corner of NE 50th and Halsey around noon today.

This thread started way back on Valentine's Day. But, to date, I've only seen one other smart on the road more than a block from a dealership. That was two months ago. I have yet to see one in my home town. This will change. I bought a 1995 Neon in March 1994 and didn't see another one on the road (in my home town) for six months. Of course, they're common as zinc cents now. But, it was cool being the 'first'. smarts will become more common ... like the Mini Cooper, I suppose.

Once you move to Oregon, you'll see them all the time.

I see smarties all over the SE Sunnyside area - there are 3 that park in my office parking lot across from Kaiser!

I saw a beautiful one tonight on SE 162nd & Sunnyside, turning into New Seasons. It was gun metal gray with metallic silver tridion - it just looked like it was sparkling!

Spotted a bumblebee at SE 34th & Belmont in Portland about 8:15 the other morning as I was going back to my house. Don't know where it lives.

oh! Forgot to post this one. There was a blue/black passion heading east on Sandy at 39th in the heart of Hollywood (Oregon, not California). I was trying to merge out and not having much luck. Suddenly a gap in the traffic and smatie lets me in!

Darrelplant - I'm sruprised we never see each other - I work on E Burnside and am tripping up and down Belmont and Hawthorne almost daily.

Must be bad timing. I live a couple of blocks off of 39th between Belmont and Stark, and I'm up and down Belmont and Hawthorne pretty much every morning and afternoon.

Here's a funny. I just got back from getting my hair cut on Hawthorne, after having parked my smart down by 37th, and when I walk out of the barber's, there's a bumblebee (probably the one I saw the other day) parked right in front of the door. Then I notice that the license plate is just one digit different than mine, so it's almost certainly the next car sCP sold (barring anybody that got custom plates).
