SC Seattle now Offers Cruise Control?

Hi everyone,
I just received an email from a SC Seattle representative, and she said they now have cruise control as an option . I can't believe it ... Has anyone else heard about this?

Interesting...

I'd like to hear more of the email detail you received...

And I'd like to hear from Steven @ SmartieParts, because he has a thread mentioning his upcoming trip to SEA...

Could be good news?

Timo

I know nothing of it. Would like details.

I am coming to Seattle, but not anything to do with the SC... directly anyway.

I sure would like to see that e-mail. My 2 cents guess is since Britmck does not have a car yet' maybe it is a factory available option available with the 2009's? Might explain why the Seattle GM was so anal to Steven a few days ago. Inquiring minds need to know.

There is no factory cruise. Not now, not next year, and likely not in the forseeable future.

Now I'm back "in the know". Whew, I was feeling lost there for a bit.

Here's the deal:

Smart Center of Seattle is referring customers to Car Toys in Tukwila (has to be THAT store). Ask for Kyle. The official line is $1000 installed. But like I said, ask for Kyle. This *is* for the Area 451 Parts cruise control, professionally installed by Car Toys of Tukwila.

For those that worried about it being too expensive before... me thinks the prices will be on the rise. Folks like Car Toys tend to set bars. They know what they're doing, and I think there's a good chance you'll see the prices gravitate toward what they're doing. It is my opinion that they must feel the product is currently undervalued and I can't say I disagree.

The Email

Hi Everyone,

I'm actually receiving a 2008 Smart and I was notified recently that it will be here in 45-60 days, so I emailed SC Seattle with a ton of questions. Here in quotes is what the SC Seattle representative stated:

"Dealer, or aftermarket options include paint protect, chip protect, and lo-jack. Paint protect is a paint sealant applied to the entire car to protect the panels from bugs, tar, tree sap and other 'sticky situations.' Chip protect is basicly a clearcoat "bra" for the car. It covers all the places you would be most likely to receive chips from road debris. Lo-Jack is an anti vehicle theft device. It is a tracking chip placed in your car that is registered with the police in your area. If your car is ever stolen, the police can locate your car by GPS tracking system. Recovery rate is excellent with this option.

Other aftermarket accessories we are able to offer is custom or dealer graphics, customized stereo systems, bluetooth, and navigation systems. We are also now able to add cruise control to the car. If any of these items interest you, please contact me directly for pricing information."

They were not really detailed about the cruise control option, but I will be replying Monday to this email, so if there are any specific questions any of you would like me to ask, feel free to post them here. Thanks!
