scdPDX Customers for the 2.0 Check Up

To scPDX Customers:

Has anyone actually received "the letter" or the "the email" or "the notice" regarding the upgrade program?

I'm not asking if you called or dropped by the dealership and got it done, but whether you received some communication from smart to come in.

I'm waiting paitiently (impatiently) trying to not be a PITB for my friends at scPDX.

SmartTech (Darin) said last Feb 10, "ok i didnt say this: but end of February early march smart is going to send a letter out about reprogramming the trans mission and replacing batteries (with in a certain vin range). so it is coming..."

It's well past the end of Februrary-early March, so what's everyone hearing?

Received my letter, scheduled the update and think it helped the tramsmission shifting. Much smoother now. Not sure how usefull the paddle update part will be because I use auto mode inorder to maximize my gas milage. If you have an '08, your letter is probably on the way now.

Be pro-active; call and get an appointment. Have the last six digits of your VIN in hand when you call. I got on the list about three weeks before my sc was ready to go, and confirmed that they were ready for me before I went down. It happened a coupe of weeks ago. I still haven't gotten anything sent to me, but then there are about 25,000 appointments to be scheduled (every '08).

Tim,

I talked with SCP about a week ago about a backup light that was out. Bryce said he could replace the bulb when they did the 2.0 upgrade. I was in on Friday and they took care of both.

I think that you should just call Bryce and schedule the appointment. While I'm sure that all of my questions are at times a PITB, SCP has never made me feel that way!

BTW, You'll like the 2.0 upgrade. The transmission shifts a bit smoother and just might make me switch from being an "automatic" driver to a "shifter"

Good Luck!

Thanks Mikie. I *know* I'll like the upgrades only because I hate the hanging up-shift and the near-lifeless battery in the dead of winter.

To all: Understood that the program is underway. Thanks, I appreciate that everyone can call the center. I get that. I read the posts.

However, I'm curious, thus my question. I thought I was very specific about hearing from PORTLAND customers who actually received communciation.

Let's try again... have any PORTLAND customers received the communication re: the program?

I heard they were doing the letters in phases so the Smart Centers didn't get inundated. I still haven't received my letter but may get things done soon anyway and schedule an appointment to get the original tires back on.

Good news too: will be bringing the car in this thursday for the update. Will let you know how the car drives, if there is an improvement. Mine was one of the first build dates to ship to the US 11/07

Hi Timo -

I didn't get a letter/email. When I called scpdx, Bryce said "I was just going to call you." which I think is a great response. Think I'll start using it myself....

ps: p1nball, mine is 11/07 build date, too. Must have been the finest batch ever produced.
