Seattle Update

Talked to the Seattle dealer today. They have recently received 5 additional cars. They are up to reservation 1175 now.

I was in smart center Seattle today and there were a number of smarts waiting for their happy owners

I went in to SmartCenterSeattle today after work, talked to Ethan and Mae (not sure of the spelling) and did my test drive. They were very nice and very helpful. I have seen a lot of complaints on the forum about the Auto/manual transmission but I found it pretty easy. Of course I did learn to drive with a stick shift (a long, long time ago) and have ridden a few motorcycles. It seemed to work very similar to a motorcycle, it just took some getting used to, feathering the throttle etc. I know I am way down the list (1470), but did sign up for an orphan. I am not too picky about color, so that should help. Smart on!

I just configured mine 2/03. Should be here by the first of May. We need to go test drive again. The loop by southcenter was to short.

I sincerely hope you are correct, but I fear that the first of May may be considerably too optimistic. I configured in December, 1225, and learned today that they will likely have a few 1180's in the next 60 days. I'm afraid mine may be here about October.

Well, after several weeks of $60 to $70 fillups on my silverado,I signed the papers and adopted a red and black orphan Saturday. Many thanks to the team at smartCenterSeattle: Vicki, Kendra, Mae, Craig and Ethan for a painless procedure. His picture is in Red smart Fortwo Gallery. I had read on the forum about how many people will ask you about the smart, but was unprepared for how many people actually do! Everywhere we have been since picking him up (yesterday about noon) someone has asked about him. The funny part is catching the people trying to be cool and look away when you catch them.

You can only imagine what a stir 12 of them together causes (Rose Bowl driveup)! Plan extra time for all outings. Enjoy!
