Shooting at the South Center Mall

Well.....just wanted to tell everyone in the PNW about the excitement my wife and I had yesterday. We were shopping at the JC Penny store when everyone started screaming & running like crazy. One of the Penny's clerks heard on her handheld that there had been a shooting at the mall. So...... they locked us in JC Penny for awhile, and then all of a sudden, cops with automatic weapons started rushing into JC Penny, and evacuating everyone outside into the parking lot. So now we're out in the parking lot sitting in smartie, and not able to go anywhere...... just sitting there feeling 'kinda like sitting ducks, and wondering where the shooter might be, and whether this was something gang related, or some lunatic just shooting at anyone & everyone. NOT a real fun day! :>( Plus we were both starving! On a good note.....my wife DID find the dress that she wanted, and the manager at JC Penny gave her the "MALL SHOOTING DISCOUNT".........an additional 15% off! :>) First time smartie (or any of us) has ever been involved in a Mall Shooting! What a world we live in these days!! :>( Sad........ very, very sad! Can't even go out to a mall to go shopping anymore without someone shooting the place up! :>(

We saw a news flash in the ticker on Fox News, glad you guys and the smartie are unhurt...and an extra 15% off doesn't hurt either!!

I wonder how they determine the correct discount for that. Is it a sliding discount depending on how far away you were from the shooting?

Someone said that it's the THIRD time in a year, so they should have the discount amount down to a science by now! :>) I know when I came home and started looking for shooting on the web, what popped up didn't sound right........ and then I realized IT was from the shooting in March '08! :>( Don't think I'll be going back up there anytime soon! BTW..... we only went there because it's right next door to smartcenter Seattle, and I had to get something taken care of on smartie.

i think it's based on the number of shots fired.....if the perp has an automatic weapon and fires multiple rounds, you get any item at COST!

in this case, they must have only got off 15 shots.

MENSA42 - In that case are you talking automatic or full automatic? I can see a structure for tiered discounts here!!

Single shot fired - 15% added to any existing discount or offer.
Multiple shots fires - 30% added to any existing discount or offer.

i like the idea of a mall shooting discount, keeps folks comin' back. "spread some lead, save some green!" all kidding side, glad you are safe and hopefully there won't be any more mall action for awhile.

I'm thinkin' that there were a LOT of people there that probably got the 100% Mall Shooting Discount, if you get my drift. I don't think anyone was paying too much attention to what people had in their hands. I had to get a manager's attention in order to pay for our merchandise! I think I probably could have walked right out the door and no one would have even noticed!

I guess I was just raised to be too honest! At least we've got something to talk about for awhile!

As long as they stayed away from me and mine, then EVERYONE gets to play another day!!!
