Suze! Thanks! Hey...... seems I remember you saying you're 'kinda a "shopaholic!" Things like this really 'kinda take the fun out of going to the mall! :>) Unless you're an adrenalin junkie, I guess! ;>) I 'kinda figured that it was nothing to really be concerned about. I'm sure the shooter was probably gone 2 seconds after he fired the shots!

I wonder how the "funny" people posting on this thread would feel had the death in this or any other shooting been their family member????

What is outrageous is that anyone feels it necessary to take or attempt to take another human life for any reason other than self preservation. That some of us have made light of this event isn't a sad commentary on our society, it is a desperate attempt to deal with the harsh reality that we live in a very dangerous unpredictable world and that life can be ripped away in a single senseless moment.

Whose "family member" do you think stood a bigger chance of losing their life Saturday........... mine.....or yours? This is the third time in less than a year that this has occurred at that particular mall! Let me repeat that for emphasis. This is the THIRD TIME in less than a year that this has occurred at that particular mall! So what would you have us do? Cry about it? Whine about it? Let the fact that we live in a society that these things occur far too often eat us up? Stay in our homes and never venture out anywhere because we're afraid that we're going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when two groups of "bangers" decide to try and even the score over some perceived injustice? Or some lunatic, such as the one just up the road at the Tacoma Mall a couple of years ago, decides to go out and just start killing people for no good reason? THIS is the stuff that we're dealing with now. THIS is the society that we live in! How we choose to deal with it is to sometimes joke about it so that we don't have to face the fact that it's not even safe to go out shopping anymore! No one here is trying to be flippant, callous, or cavalier! No one is trying to show disrespect for anyone who has lost a family member due to such senseless tragedy! We here in this group.... in the PNW chapter of the SCOA, KNOW each other. We've associated with each other, and we're family. We know that we're good people, and this is just how we have chosen to deal with this particular event. You're not a member of this family, and therefore, you don't have enough information to judge us, form opinions about us, and make character assessments based on two or three sentences in a forum thread! You most certainly do not have the right to attempt to slander us with disparaging remarks. As one who was there, your opinions aren't valid, and I for one, would prefer that you keep them to yourself! Have a nice day!
