Smart Car Rental in Seattle

I get out to Seattle about once a month and have been trying to rent a smart for over a year now. Hertz, Avis, and Budget have them on their national sites, but nothing is available in Seattle.

This I don't understand because there are more Priuses and ecology concious people in that area.

Even though I request a compact or economy vehicle, they always give me a mid-size SUV which I can never park straight.

If you find a place to rent one, please let me know - I'd much rather tool around in a smart than anything else.

Well I picked up a rental at the Portland dealer on Friday, for a Spring Break Week rental. It's a brand new Passion coupe; first thing we did was run downtown to hit up Powell's. Parking in the Pearl District has never been so easy; we saw two other smarts while we were there.

We'll see how well it makes it over to Bend in a couple of days.

We had a very good experience renting in Arizona. It was handled through Enterprise, but the car came from the Chandler center. We averaged 41mpg on the 1 full tank even though we were doing 70 quite a bit of the time to semi keep up with traffic. I put that down to the flatness of the roads unlike Western Washington. It was an air conditioned Pure. Turned out just right for the 2 of us.
