Why I don't drive when it snows in Portland

First it rained good and hard for two days. Then the snow started. Now the temperature is dropping and we can expect to be locked in ice (literally!) for the next 7 days.

How are things in your neck of the woods?

My hat is off to you folks who live in cold climes.
I suppose if I lived where you live, I would have to hibernate until Springtime.
Currently, where I am, it's mid 50's, and clear skies.
That's cold enough for me!!

Good cheap entertainment, as long YOU are not the star of local coverage...

It probably never gets any better than ATL where people freak if someone even mentions snow or ice. And boy do they put on a good show on those infrquent times when conditions are "just right" for the weather highlights.

How is it im my Neck of the woods? Today it got up near 60 and melten the snow. It is currently 42 deg at 6 pm and raining, By midnight it is soposed to be 0.

I think some freezing will happen on the roads and since Salt doesn't work below 15 deg well, and we will have strong winds to blow folks off those frozen roads. Can't wait for the morning trafic report.

Its 3 Degrees out right now. We started the day at 48 degrees, no rain or snow here in Iowa. Just a temperature change.

60° at 9 PM. It's been a mild day.
A couple of days ago we had rain, with temps in the 50s.

I wouldn't be driving in the conditions you've got either!

Tonight on the TV news they showed pictures of snow on the beach! It looked amazing!

I'm going to try to make it in to work today. I was hoping to find some helpful hints on how M1NE will handle in the snow/ice. Guess I'll have to let you know...
