Just picked up my 2009 coupe so I'm ready to sell my 2008 yellow convertible. She is loaded with comfort package, including tinting on all windows. Has everything except security alarm and fog lights. she is in mint condition and has less than 6,000 miles but I don't need two. Asking $20,000.

Can't comment on how much the tinting cost you, but I think I could buy a brand new orphan for roughly the same price. Why would I want to buy your car with a quarter of the warranty gone?
I'm afraid these yellow-car posters are right. Check around a bit and maybe rethink your pricing. Ebay is a good source and also the SCOA marketplace, here >>>Smart Vehicle Marketplace - Smart Car of America Forums (Where the mods will prolly move this post)
Good Luck - I wasn't able to sell my orphan when my ordered car came in, so just kept it. And I'm quite happy I did.
If I took an orphan, I most likely would not have taken my order when it came in. Unless you really have a need for two of them, then there is no reason to go and take the car when it comes in. You should of just cancelled when you got the orphan, would of been much easier on ya. Good Luck though.
Thanks everyone for the information on selling our Smart. I used this figure at the suggestion of our salesperson and you are right, it's too high. I paid $20,000.68 new then added about $1500 (tinting, floor mats, clock/tachometer, cd holder and a couple of other small things). It's amazing how things have changed in less than a year. How does $18,000 sound? I appreciate your honest (and gentle) remarks.
Here's my experience. My passion (not cab) had every available factory option, plus tint, 2 sets of mats, clear bra, lo-jack, extended warranty, area451 Cruise Control, 7500 miles - just under $20,000 total into it.
I advertised it for $16,500 and got no calls at all. The dealer told me they might get me $15,500 on a trade for my new one. I wasn't willing to take that much loss.
This was in October.
And don't worry if you get criticism for trying to sell your orphan. You are entitled to want what you want! You wanted a smart when you bought your orphan and now you want your reserved car. Good Luck!!
