Black for Red Panel Swap

I'm getting my 2008 Pure in July (that's the current guess from the Central Florida dealer), my reservation number is #1262. I ordered it Black/Black, but since then I've changed my mind and would prefer a Red/Black to match my current red Mazdaspeed MX-5.

So, offering to swap my brand-new (since it is not delivered I can guarantee they will brand spanking new) blank panels for red panels. Who wants to get rid of their "ticket red" for a more stealth black? Of course, yours should be reasonably 'new' too, no 'scratched up Red" please. ;-)

Plus we can spend a Saturday afternoon figuring how to properly swap these (volunteers welcome to watch or help too), drink some beers, and slap ourselves on our foreheads half a dozen times as we figure it out.

dont say they will be perfect because they are new it took 3 fenders until i got a good one they all had dimples in them

Tempting. I like black and I have the only red smart I've seen in Clermont. However, I'm reluctant to lose this color, since I like it more every day and the rumor mill says it won't be back in '09. I have given thought to swapping some panels with another owner. If my car were white, I could see swapping fenders with a black smart to produce a couple of "police-style" two-tone cars. Or a "rainbow" car where you could have a panel in every different color. I saw VW do a limited run of Golfs that way a few years ago ** very "box of Crayolas"-looking.

dimples? care to explain, haven't heard any reports yet of cars damaged on brand new delivery...

yea looks like a high spot some are getting damaged when they are pushed out of the mold then they sent another fender and the same thing then they sent another and finally got it right
