Keys trip!

Lets use this thread to discuss the keys trip in the Fall. I have some ideas already, but I would like to hear yours as well!
My ideas:
*Start early in the morning around 7 am
*Stop in Marathon and have a pic-nic lunch at Marathon park (around MM 46)
*Go to the 'spots' in Key West and have dinner there
*Drive home in the beautiful sunset
Any other ideas? I personally love Marathon park so it would be nice to go there

PS I am going to cross post this at other smart forums so everyone knows about it!

Some of us from the Orlando area may join assuming the drive was scheduled for a Saturday. Would likely drive down to Florida City on Friday night and join up there on Sat morning. Stay there again or somewhere in Miami on Sat night and return North on Sunday.

Would need some advance notice.

Should probably schedule before the season gets started in November and need to avoid the weekends of Fantasy Fest and the Key West Poker Run.

Aw come on Ken... we can't go the week of Fantasy Fest???

Seriously though... I'd be down with driving down on Friday to Florida City. Saturday is better than Sunday. And November would be better... it's 2 degrees cooler down there.

I have two extra single beds at my house if you would like to stay here on the day before, however on the way back I will likely be staying at my (future) grandfather-inlaw's house in Largo. If he is not in town, you could stay before and after.

Just to narrow it down, how does the following dates to choose from sound?

September 13

September 27

This will give all Florida Smartees a chance to plan on joining us. I like the idea of stopping mid way and having a pic-nic at the Marathon Park.

September 13th is a very bad weekend. The Kansas at South Florida game is the night of the 12th... Driving down that night wouldn't be an option.

What happened to October or November anyways????
