near miami area

i wanted to know if there were fellow miami area smarts to do a meet. also i need help. i need someone who has already dropped the front of the smart to help me out.

The dealership in Weston seemed to be involved some months back... they had a BBQ and organized a drive to the Keys... but I haven't heard much lately... and many of those who went on the drive have faded off lately... don't see them much.

Good luck though... from what I understand there are plenty of them down there. We went down for the BPP event in July and there were about 8 smarts there.

I was a spectator at the July event, I went in a friend's Corvette to do some dyno runs. I agree they had about 8 smarts and so I decided to buy one too after seeing how spacious it was inside. I ended up picking up an orphan a couple weeks later.

I have seen a couple Smarts in Coconut Grove on weekends and a couple in downtown Miami, but always the same ones. It seems to only be a weekend car for most - not a daily driver. I currently have 5k miles in 5 months so I use it 70-80% of the time.

I have another car but I just can't resist the great parking spots that I get.

thanks for the help I'll try to stalk some smarts when I see ten hut it hard to find some that like to hook up their cars. I for one am one and I only see another smart in yellow hooked up

I went to the weston meet but did not see a smart that was nicely hooked up

What exactly are you planning to do?

I have H&R lowering springs that RandyZimmerman on this site gives a video how to.
I have 16x7 wheels, K&N filter, BPP exhaust, real CF wing, real CF antenna, fake CF interior console, 4smartcar 8" subwoofer w/ 150W amp. There isn't much left except for a lip kit, ECU re-map, and a turbo.

If you need help, then this is the place to get it.

Ask Big Performance or Andy Kahn about the ECU and Turbo. The lip kits are available here in the Marketplace Vendor section.

IM in Coral Gables, the dealer in the Gables uses I think another site called wetpaint? or something like that to send out invites to their events..... but only saw one im in if you all want to organize something

I'm not in you area but would encourage you not to use wetpaint... the layout isn't the best.

Have a local meet or two and form a club... then register the club here at SCOA and you will have your own messageboard and calender here all on one site. Seems to work better that way.

If you guys need any help setting up a club down there let me know I'll do what ever I can for you.
