Our current group of 30 plus owners/smarts in Central Florida have scheduled a meet and eat for Sat, July 5th and a meet and greet for Friday evening July 25th.
Information below. These events are open to all. The first is simply a show up if you can event. No advanced notice is neccesary.
The second does require that we inform the venue of the number of cars we expect so please PM me if you are going to attend.
1. I realize that the 5th is during a Holiday Weekend and many of you may already have plans for that date, But, because there will be no formal grand opening that weekend of the smart center,Orlando I decided to schedule an informal meet and greet and dinner for anyone that would like to come.
We'll be meeting at the China Jade Buffet & Mongolian Grill, 819 Herndon Ave (just off Hwy 50 beside Orlando Fashion Square). The food is delicious and varied enough to satisfy everyone! Chinese, American, Sushi, Salad Bar, Fresh Grilled and Ice Cream, so nobody will go hungry. Total cost I believe is $12.00 a person which will cover food, drink, tax and tip. Yes, really! A full bar is also available along with beer and wine if you so choose.
The phone number for the China Jade is 407-898-6394. There is a ton of parking beside and in front of the small restaurant parking lot due to the closed 8 screen movie theater and the data entry center within spitting distance.
I plan on arriving about 5:00PM and will likely go in to eat about 6:00PM. I picked this location due to ample parking and the fact that it is a buffet so we won't be making reservations or guarunteeing any numbers.
Drop me a note if you think you can make it but if it is a last minute decision for you that is fine, just show up.

2. Hello everyone. I have confirmed our participation in the Old Town Friday night Car Show and Cruise at the Old Town Entertainment Venue. This car show is normally reserved for customs, exotocs and classics from 1975 to 1987 but they are excited to have us be there with our smart cars. They are going to advertise the event so they are hoping a large group of us show up.
Old Town is a large complex of shops, restaurants and bars with live bands on an outside stage and with various rides and activities. It is located at 5770 W. US Highway 192 in Kissimmee and just south of the Disney World complex.
The car show begins at 5:00PM which is when they want us to arrive and concludes at 9:00PM with a slow drive through the complex. There is plenty to see, do, eat and drink on the premises.
I am going to find a spot a few blocks away where we can assemble between 4:15 and 4:30 PM and then enter Old Town in a caravan which will give us the best opportunity of parking in a group. I will let you know the location for assembling prior to the event.
I do need to keep Old Town informed as to the likely number of smart cars that are coming so please send me an e=mail to let me know you will be there and if you own his and hers smarts as several couples do please let me know if you are bringing both cars.
I think this will be a very fun event and that we will get a great deal of attention. If you know owners not currently on our distribution list encourage them to attend as well but please keep me informed of the number of smart cars in your party. I will post this on SCOA as well to see if we can increase the attendance.
