Arizona Taken Possession???

Talked to Tracy (smart center Chandler / Mercedes-Benz of Chandler) on the phone today... Seems that things didn't go as planned today.. Smart Cars were supposed to have been trucked to the far destination first like New Mexico & Arizona but it would seem that places in California were shipped first. She had expected the first truck to be here this afternoon but now it’s looking like midnight. She doesn’t have a clue as to what on the truck. There are 8 Smart Cars on it but are they customer’s vehicles or are they demo cars? Tracy doesn’t know.. So the waiting goes on… I’ll post as soon as I receive mine on here you can be sure of that, otherwise I’ll be out of town until Sunday which Tracy will call me if I can pick it up on Sunday.. if mine is one of the lucky ones… Otherwise she doesn’t know when the second truck is scheduled.. It would seem she would have a better ideal on things but I guess not.. Hope to hear from other Arizonians once they receive their Smart Car.

I just recieved this e-mail from Tracy.

I wanted to let you know that your vehicle is currently at the port. This means that your vehicle is stateside and awaiting inspection at our port of entry in California. Once this inspection is complete your vehicle will be loaded onto a transport and brought to us here at smart center Chandler. Our hope is to have your vehicle here and ready for delivery to you within the next two weeks. Our demo vehicles are expected to arrive later this week along with the first customer vehicles, once we can confirm your vehicles arrival date we will be in touch to schedule your delivery visit. If you have any questions, please let us know…

I received the exact same e-mail from Sean today. I was expecting a VIN number, but knowing it's in CA is good enough for me! It would be fun if they'd let me go get it....Glenda

Ours will be at the dealer in LA in a week or so and we will pick them up then. One of them will be going to Tucson the 1st week in Feb. Probably the yellow one as I think the blue one will look better at our place in Ca.

Maybe we can plan a smart rally sometime?

Tracey told me that MB charges $400, so that is what smart is going to charge. Every dealer in AZ can set thier own rate. they could set smart to be lower but I guess they want to keep getting the $400.
