This is my recent experiance with an engine light that came on at 1100 miles on my 2008 Passion.

The work order show that ME control unit software performed short test found code P0410 which states that the secondary air injection system is faulty. CK freeze frame data found data to be out of spec. Dealer found newer software avail. Preformed software programming with SCN coding. Performed secondary air injection test with SDS found 02sensor operating and air pump operating as per designed. tech 7055

Any one experiance any of these problem let me know. Engine light hasn't came back on...knock on wood.

I've had my 2008 Passion for 2 days, and with less than 200 miles the engine light is ON.

I learned from other posts to check your gas cap before a panic call to the dealer. I didn't realize the cap screws in several times, then you hear clicking. After tightening it, I drove about 20 miles and the light went out.

I got the same problem as Karl. My light came on at 700 miles. I'm at 2200 now, and it came on again yesterday. My tech said he reset the sensor and ordered me a new one. Haven't seen it yet. I guess I've got to make another call. The car seems to be running fine though.

I had to take my car back in, same error. They end up changing out a valve but they didn't have the current software update for it avaiable. I'm suppose to take it back in so they can update the part with the latest software. Brian suppose to call me once they have it.

Beside that a rock cracked my windshield.. No windshield in Arizona for the Smart Car.. They had already order some which took two weeks to get in. I get my windshield changed out next Tuesday. Good thing I have free windshield replacement.

I experienced the same engine light at 3,200 miles. Will try gas cap suggestion. If that doesn't work I'll call service and let you all know what happens.

PhxBird57, I have the same problem P0410 on my first trip to the dealer, they reset everything and a week later I have the same problem. What did the dealer do to fix it?
