Extended Warranty

ok here goes. 3rd party warranties do not cover very much plus they only pay a certain labor rate in which the customer will be responsible for the rest. I deal with all these companies on a daily basis. Fidelity is by far the best you can buy. They cover everything. What you want to make sure when purchasing your coverage that they cover gaskets, rubber bushing, leaking valve cover, clutch failure, a/c components etc.... The first two I mentioned is key I can not tell you how many 3rd party warranty companies i have called that do no cover these two items.

I'm not so sure about that (cover everything). Here is a list of their EXCLUSIONS right from their website on their Platinum warranty (best?):

UNDER PLATINUM COVERAGE, ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS:

Brake linings, brake drums and rotors, disc brake pads, standard transmission clutch components, air bags, solar powered devices, hinges, glass, lenses, sealed beams, body parts and/or panels, trim, moldings, door handles, lock cylinders, tires, wheels, batteries, light bulbs, upholstery, paint, bright metal, freeze plugs, heater and radiator hoses, exhaust system, shock absorbers, audio, security or other systems not factory installed, work such as front-end alignment or wheel balancing, constant velocity joint boots, safety restraint systems, cellular phones, electronic transmitting devices (except for those specifically listed under silver, gold, or gold plus coverage), radar detectors, appliances, near object avoidance systems and all laser radar cruise control components, vinyl and convertible tops.

Just saying...

So, what the warranty company is trying to tell us in there own way, is to take that money you would spend on their Extended Warranty, and SAVE IT to put down on that New Car your going to Buy when the standard Smart warranty (2 years 24,000 miles) is done... Bummer... Yup, the Smart is going to put a Nick in your Wallet after the Warranty is up...<:-((
