Smart Car Gathering at Scottsdale Pavilions on March 29th!

I don't have my car yet, but I met an owner on the road yesterday and we talked about gathering as many owners as possible in two weeks at Scottsdale Pavilions, the nationals longest continuously running car show. This show is FREE to park your car in and free to attend, and happens every Saturday, about 250 cars or so. If we get to 20 cars (in the future), they will reserve a row for us, but otherwise the spots are first-come first-serve, come and go as you please.

I am planning on being there from 3:30PM till 7:00PM, although if the weather is really good, it could be full by 4:00PM. My wife will be there with another car club, but what I am really interested in is meeting other Smart Car owners.

The gentleman I met yesterday is named SCOTT and he is driving a white Smart Car, and he said that he will try to be there. Anybody else?

It'd be a lot of fun to go - I've never even been to a car show! We're being threatened with out of town guests next week, so I can't confirm yet though. I wonder if I can make them all come with me?

There are a couple of restuarants, surrounded by tons of strip mall shopping, and a couple hundred cool cars to look at in the middle of it all.

It looks like there will be at least FIVE cars there (so far), including both 2008 models and earlier models. Also, I am aware of a couple of people with cars on order who said that they will be coming.

The www.smart-az.com website is up to 16 registered users now, roughly an even split between people who have a 2008 and those who have one on order.

I just got the email addresses of six people who own pre-2007 Smart Cars, and have sent them an invitation to meet at Pavilions.

As far as a ride before/after, with other car clubs that I have gone to Pavilions with, we often caravan to a local "pub" after we have gotten our fill of the car show. If we want to do that, we can discuss it there. I live in Scottsdale, so I can make a few suggestions.

I really hope to get there as long as a house project is done by then. I'd love to talk with the other AZ owners and discuss modifications, etc. Hope to see you all there! Not like I care about the car show itself since anyone who owns a smart will tell you it's a car show no matter where you are at
