What a pleasant way to end the year. Just got the confirmation email and placed my order!
Took an hour plus to decide on color choice. Went with blue on silver, but have plans to paint it when delivered.

One step closer to what has been a 4+ years, desire of mine. I stopped by Mercedes of Chandler, late one night while closed. The blue model inside mostly confirmed the colors...just in case I don't get it painted right away...it still looks good to me.

Maybe I'll bump into some of you zonies during visits to the dealer.

Congrats! Good color choices; leaving mine blue & silver. Saw something on TV today about blue being the color for 2008 cars.

I'm going to paint mine as well - I need to call Tracy at the dealership and see if they have options or how that will work and of course the $$

Congratulations SmartAZ! I know you are feeling relieved and recharged right now.

It would be very cool if we planned and held some sort of Rally Smart event for AZ members in the Fall (being optimistic that most of us will have taken delivery by then).

No dealer affiliation, but feel at home there with prior MB ownership and service. Nice to see what they did for Smart. Hope to stop by this coming weekend to visit with staff and talk "smart". Anybody been there? Do they have the knowledge I expect from a sales/management team. It is fun to know more than those selling it though. Car buying has always been secret pleasure of mine. I like to play the games and all...and always win in the end. No haggling in this one though and that IS good.

I sure hope the next wait isn't long. I think I've chosen my color for a likely paint job. I'll talk them up about that too.

Maybe the dealer will consider some participation in group events. I suspect there are many more in Valley who don't post or even visit this forum.

I had much fun with my Scion Xb when that was the cool new car for me to have. (No slams please, as I like the old style more than the new)

funny, I just sold my Merc B C32 AMG earlier this past year, and you are right the people @ Schumacher Merc were very friendly. I ALSO own a Scion Xb right now. I drive a lot (62,000 the past 2 years) and you just cant beat the great gas mileage, the room for the family (wife 2 kids) and the reliability!! I avrg about 32mpg and have never had a single problem (91,000 miles right now). I plan on keeping the xb for most of my work week along with the Prius, and then my wife will be driving the Smart car. We will have to have some kind of get together and take a short trip up to Prescott some time, its a great little trip to get out of the valley...

This post is to let you know more about my visit today.

Again Alex and Tracy (discovered she is a #1175) were outstanding.

I brought Alex a gift of a Smart N scale lapel pin and a HO scale Busch silver and blue 451. She was very pleased.

To my surpise when I pulled up to the Smart Center I noticed that they were just finishing up hanging the front signage. See pix in the other thread.

Well, I was so excited to get an in progress picture I grabbed my camera and locked my keys in the car. Tracy and Alex were life savers. They contacted their roadside assistance tech and ...... doors unlocked free of charge. Now that's service!!

I was also asked for some customer info. Besides the normal contact info and model selection I was asked about my interest in ordering the following available features/add-ons. Here they are and my choices.
1. Chrome wheels - no (the stock allow ones are fine by me)
2. Painted wheels - no
3. Upgraded floormats - yes
4. Custom paint - no
5. Racing stripes - no
6. Wrap - no
7. Painted gas cap - no
8. Cargo net -no
9. Panel swap (kinda of a change color when you want plan)
10. Global Positioning system - interested, but want more info
11. Sirius Radio - no
12. Window tint - yes

14. Wheel protection - yes (locking lug nuts)
15. Extended Warranty - yes
16. Clear bra - no
17. Paint protection - no
18. Interior protection - no

I do hope they have some of the other wheels available that we've seen on this board. The chrome ones from the smart house in Venice are cool. Looks like they might be looking to offer some of these extras at the dealerships. Thanks for the info!

BTW - our dealership in ABQ looks to be mostly complete inside but outside they are missing only the signage.

Enjoyed the pictures. They are great. Everything is starting to come together. Thought the information on the extra's was great too.
