The problem that I see with it though is catching the dealer before he has drilled the holes in the bumper. Those of you that go before the rest of us might mention this to the dealer. The dealer should ask you before he goes and drills holes in your bumper. After the fact is to late.
it's their responsibility to drill the bumper and install the plate. they are legally bound by it. you have to request them not to drill and then they will likely have you sign a waiver stating that you know the law and still request it not to be done. i just e-mailed my dealer ahead of time and requested it. no problem.

Another thing i noticed today was that on the window sticker it said the port of entry for these cars was from Jacksonville Fla. I guess they were either trucked or rail car from there.

Yes from what I know too the car were brought to the Port in FL before it was trucked here. My car is sitting at the dealer waiting for me to pick it up! The approval didn't go through today reason why I don't have my car still. I am lined up to be the first to take delivery in Houston! Can't wait!

In Texas dealer is not require to mount the front plate. However it is against the law to not have a front plate displayed. With that being said since Texas was overrun with the Katrina victims from Louisiana, a state requiring only a rear plate, is is unlikely you will get stopped.

I drive a Chevy SSR without a front plate for 4 years. They can still give me a ticket. But I have never been stopped and plenty of cops have seen my truck. Very few Corvettes have front plates in Texas.

My 2 cents
