Bill, I'm sorry if I came across as being someone that was standing up for smart center of Dallas. I've gotten to know their sales consultants and the parts manager quite well and I really can't see how they could've acted the way you were describing them. I knew some sort of agreement was probably in place for them not to service or sell anything to any 450 smarts but wasn't sure 100%. I am also sorry to hear that you will not get any "official" dealership support if you needed any service done on your smart. Let's just hope that they (Penske) will change their mind in the future and welcome ALL smarts at their dealership for service and parts. Now that we know the true story let's put this to rest and start enjoying driving our smarts.

Perry.

I can imagine I'd of been disappointed as well.

However someone at the Dallas dealership DID call back and TRY to be helpful.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. But I've been to the dealership several times and found all 3 sales ladies and the receptionist to be wonderfully helpful and nice. I haven't actually met or dealt with the parts counter. Have you tried contacting the manager or someone who can do something about the issue such as additional training? When it comes down to it complaining on the forum here is kind of moot for the most part. As most of us are waiting for or have the 451 models. And since there are very limited dealerships ESPECIALLY in the DFW, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Arkansas area's .... our hands are tied as to what dealership we can use. I'm jest sayin.

Well, I get your point Bill. It's a ridiculous situation to be in. Bottom line is, they refused to sell to you AND you were stranded. It's inexcusable!

Earlier this month I called another dealership to purchase an oil filter. I was interrogated and required to prove I owned a 2008 before I could buy. Sheesh, I'm making an international call from Japan. I hate this dealership BS! I guarantee I will not buy anything else from ANY dealership for the car. If what I want isn't available elsewhere I won't be getting it.
