Yes, that's right. We had our little group gathering on Saturday at Sonic and although there were only three of us, we did have a great discussion regarding the group.
We have decided that we would meet every month on the first saturday at 6pm (depending on holidays). For september, we have agreed that due to Labor Day weekend, we will postpone the meeting until the second saturday (9/12/09), so that everyone can still enjoy their holiday weekend. The meeting will be held at the denny's near the airport (I will start another thread with the time, address, etc., etc.).
In addition to that, we would like to spice things up by having quarterly runs/rallies. So, instead of us always meeting at denny's and just chit-chatting, we would get out and do something really fun. Any ideas you may have for this, bring it up at one of our meeting at denny's or just message us here.
Also, we would like to be able to conduct one charitable event a year. Ideas similar to the braile rally or the poker run that were completed last year. This is a great opportunity for us to be able to get recognition as well as a way to give back to something great.
One last thing that we discussed was getting together with the Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Houston areas clubs and putting together a South Central meet here in Austin. I hope to get back in contact with Brandon from Dallas/Ft. Worth who originally tossed out the idea to further discuss on what we can do.
I would just like to thank Rebecca and her Ruby and Bruce and his Cheri for coming on out and meeting up with me and my Bruno. Can't wait until 9/12 to do it again.
