Central Texas Smart Club meeting minutes

Today at Sonic, there were only 4 cars, but we hashed out some good ideas. Going to put down some of the ideas and hopefully, those that read this can post if they like the ideas or not.

1. All clubs need organizers, so Michael, Myself and hopefully Janet will be in the lead for doing things. I still need to talk with Janet unless she chimes in on this forum.

2. We plan on getting together with RR smart Center for some support on where we want to go with the Club. Maybe get a little more support on doing some events.

3. Tuesdays are rough for some and Saturdays are rough for some. So one idea was we do a Tues and Sat Meet each month to accomodate both walks of life.

4 Another idea that was brought up was "SONIC SATURDAY". This is where we pick a different location around the central Texas area, or even a few of them. Then between 2 - 4pm, if you live in that area, and want to show up and chat with ANY smarties that show, you can. Just so that ppl can meet other ppl that have the same taste in this little car.

Hope those that read this will be interested in the ideas. There were only about 7 ppl there talking about this. So this is what we came up with. We are moving forward and if you want to join in for some fun. Everyone is most welcome to join in.

You probably only had so few people/cars there (I'm assuming) because nobody knew about the gathering. I recommend starting and maintaining an email list and sending out invites. I would have been there, but didn't know about it. - JTS

Yea, we talked about that. The reality is that new owners happen every month and we do not have access to their email accounts. Furthermore, many potential members don't seem to access internet websites all that often so self-selecting into a group is problematic. RRsmart has offered to email all their owners and we'll probably work with them to manage an email list. Do you want to participate in the planning/maintaining of the group?

To add to Michaels comments. Sonic Saturday was on short notice, but it was posted here on Thursday and alson on Insider. I made an Insider group for those that are interested in doing a CLUB thing. But we have only 3 that have registered with the group. It is a simple process, you don't even have to use the insider if you don't want to. But it makes it easier for us to make sure that those that are truely interested get emails on upcoming events. I figure the first day of the month, we can have each Sat done up for the Sonic thing, and also to include any other functions that might be going on.

So please, go and register with smartusainsider.com and look up Central Texas Smart Club. Then join it. That is all that has to be done for us to keep those that are really interested informed. Even if RR smart does not send out any emails. Going to chat with them next week on that issue though.
