<DFW> Driving Event

Who: SMART Owners and Invited Guest
What: Lunchtime drive to the 4 Winds Steak House
When: April 19 2008
Where: Meet at the Einstein's Bagels I-75 and 15th Street in Plano
TIME: 9:30a meet up 10a Departure time

ETC: Everyone needs to be at the Einstein's on the Southwest corner of I-75 and 15th for the start of the drive. We will head North and East and end up at the 4 Winds Steakhouse for lunch. They have opened special for our club and will provide a lunch menu to be posted at a later date.

I have a smart and would love to do this. But don't you think the April time frame might be a little too early? If you push it back to Jume by then you'll see a lot more people in the DFW area driving a smart. Last I heard as of last week smart center Dallas delivered 47 cars and I know that at least 5 went out of states. Of the other 42 I'm not sure if they are members on this board or not. I know there are at least 5 people who will get their smart in May or June. So I'm just suggesting push it back until June for a bigger showing.

I am putting this together with the MB Club as well. They have set dates for certain events. I agree, that later in the year will bring more SMART owners out, but at the same time, if I can get just 2-3 out this time, then its a start.

I have been putting drives like this together for over 5 years, and with SMART being another 1st for me, I think it would be nice to get a us out in a smaller group 1st , in order to work out any " bugs " that may come up...

Does that make sense.... ? Its late and I may be rambling...

I promise, I will have many other drives , to many other places... this is just a starting point. Think of it this way..... 3 now, 6 next time, 12 , then 24....

So, I hope you will come out and be one of the 1st to do a SMART drive!

He is a early picture from a Ferrari dinner Saturday night. I thought to myself, what could I drive that would stand out at an exotic dinner... at Ferrari's in Grapevine.

I am sure it will be around the 10 o'clock hour. I will post up more details as we get closer to the date.

I sincerely appreciate the PM and invite.

My RSVP is a sad, no thank you. We don't expect our new toy for at least 8 more weeks and of course a 400~500 round trip in the gas guzzler F350 is sorta dumb.

If this does go well, and I really hope it does, then perhaps later this year the "drives' may swing further south and facilitate Austin ~Waco hook up meeting places. I can see expending the time and fuel to meet in Hillsboro(sp?) and go to the Ennis race facility or some other out door car oriented venue. Maybe even the Scarborough Fair thing in Waxahachi (Sp?)
