I loved the way we turned the heads of so many people and also had people waving at us. The ones that stand out to me were all the people at the work center and this one farmer riding his tractor off in a field. I was worried the farmer would run into a tree or something.

Someone mentioned radio channels. What type of radios were some people using to communicate?

It would be amusing to coordinate one of these events with a MINI Cooper event and have the drive be along an opposite path where all the cars would drive by each other somewhere in the middle...just a thought...otherwise we could just drive by a mini-meet and honk...

I'm glad you guys had a great time. I'll be on the next drive. We can crash the MINI monthly meet and they will be more than open to allow us park next to the MINIs. Their month meeting is at Humperdinks in Addison. The next one is the 2nd Saturday of May. By then, there'll be a few more MINI owners with a smart. If you guys really want to I'll give my MINI buddies a heads up for the next meeting.

I think you just have to talk to one of the three sales consultants letting them know you want to get an Orphan if it becomes available. If they have something that matches what you want they'll probably call to let you know.

Call and/or visit your local dealership. The more open you are as to colors and options the better your chances at getting one sooner rather than later. Then visit as often as you can. I got lucky because they were going to the phone to call someone else when I came in and said, "I'll take it!"

Thanks, Steve for a fun drive and a very nice lunch. Here's a photo of the lineup before we left. I count 13 Smarts but maybe someone had already left. I believe 10 Smarts made it to the Four Winds but I was too hungry to take pictures.

In San Antonio the cars are divided up between sales people and there is no master list. When I got my car, my sales person only had three names. Another had 8. Another had 1. I was in there all the time and they definitly knew me.
