<DFW> Motorsports Ranch Driving Event - Anyone?

Who: SMART cars only
What: Driving school
When: TBD
Where: Motorsports Ranch-Dallas
Cost: Under $200.00 < estimated >
Etc: NOT racing school, but more , driving school, to see and learn what your SMART car can and will do!

MotorSport Ranch - Performance Car Country Club

Apex Driving Academy - Resources

This would be the first SMART " track day " that I know of. We would meet early for class ( 8am ) the head out for a full day of driving and classroom instruction. I have done this with Volvo, MB, Audi, Lotus, and many other groups and have had a blast!

You would not need anything special other than an your car and an open mind! If you have a helmet, that would be great, otherwise you may rent one for the day for $10!

This is not racing and would be a novice paced event - for the most part, everyone that I know of that may be intersted , this would be their first time as well...

If I can get 16 SMART's signed up, we should have our own sessions and instructors! Usually we would book a Monday or Friday event.

So, your thoughts?

Steve

How much does it cost? I would be interested if I had my smartcar. Maybe next year, since my DDE says January 2009 to March 2009.

In the past it has cost less than $200 per person.

More to follow

I'd have to wait closer to time to see how scheduling and finances work out.

I confirmed that it would most likely be a Monday , with a Friday being the other possibility.

Cost would be under $200

I would have to get 16 SMARTS to sign up in order to keep it a SMART only session / event.

Steve

p.s. Unless we would be open to sharing with the Mini club? Thoughts?

I'd be interested in participating, depending on when it is. I own my own business which means that I work 7 days a week, but also means I can take off a Friday or Monday if I want. I'd need a definite date before I could commit, but I am really interested.

You're kidding, right? If not, helmets are worn on the participants' heads while on the track to prevent injury in case of an accident.

Nope, not kidding. I was genuinely curious because the OP stated "This is not racing and would be a novice paced event..."
