According to the weather guy, March is the most windy month in Central Texas with April as a close second. So, the wind gusts we are experiencing in Texas may be about as bad as it gets. This morning the winds were calm and the car drove great at 55-65 mph. So, I can live with a some windy days now and then when I have to slow down a bit.

Years ago when I had an Isetta, the only way to get it up to real speed - over 60 - was to draft a square back vehicle like a truck. I once had it almost to 65 at half throttle behind a truck. If you ran it for an extended period putting out max power at 55 to 57 you were in real danger of seizing the engine which almost every Isetta we worked on did at one time or another, but it was an easy fix.

The west wind is blowing a sustained 25 mph, with gusts to 55 mph today. The drive on the elevated loop road was akin to surfing a big glassy whitewater hole or tearing a twitchy switchback on a monkey-motion MTB. The big difference is I don't have to be healthy, just quick, and strong enough to hold the line. Wicked...er...Gnarly...er... OK I'm way over 40; what's the new term?
