Hi Houston Smart owners.

I know everyone here is getting antsy to set up a Houston area Smart meet..

(even though mine's not in yet, I have no problem helping organize something for everyone.)

Lets start off by voting on a date.. it'll be in May so more owners can find out and we can spread the word and not just have 5 people show up. Maybe we can somehow spread the word to owners who are not on this forum..? Maybe through the dealerships help?


Let's plan a meet in the South side, and then another one in June'ish in the North side??

Vote on a good date first, and then post any suggestions on a good meeting location.. Somewhere we can have a good safe time, and show off our Smarts!

Update.. I cannot edit the poll but it looks like meeting at Smart Sugarland isnt the best thing on a saturday since they have extremely limited parking..

Lets go ahead and plan on meeting somewhere specific. I will be making flyers to give to Smart sugarland if they are okay with it and have them given to new owners etc..

I think May 24th is a good date, PLENTY of time to spread the word and more cars delivered to new owners.

Great idea! though do you think its possible its a tad too far south for many folks in the North part of Houston?

Plus anything with an outdoor patio would be great too!

Kemah might be a bit too far for most folks to get there easily and you have to arrange well in advance to get any parking set aside. I should know as we live in Champions and have another place in Kemah and have shown other cars down there. (We do sometimes drive the Smart between the two). In the Porsche 356 club, we have found either downtown (new park?) or around Town and Country (at say Cafe Express or one of the other restaurants) seems to be ok for cars from all over - and we have members that come in from Sugarland, Willis, Champions, 290, West U, and Bellaire on a regular (monthly) basis. And we can usually park together.

This place is used for antique car meets every 6 months. Lots of parking with a patio! Lets do this once a month

Keep the ideas rolling in, IF anyone here really likes and idea just say it! and we will make a decision by mid week.

All we need is good parking, maybe an outdoor patio restaurant/bar'ish type of place. I'll do a little more thinking and have a couple of ideas soon!

How about the Houston Galleria area, in "uptown Park"??

there is a cafe express there and may be a more "Central" location for everyone.
