License plate location

As many of you know, it is a state requirement to have front and back plates. But What I want to know is how many here actually do it.

I actually put mine on this car, I don't have it on the other ones.
at first, people thought it was not street legal and now with the plates on there are no more "street legal" questions.
It also looks kind of quirky and out of porportion which I think is kind of cool.

Not every state requires a front plate. Mine presently does; but there are frequent suggestions to do away with them. In the interim, I use a GoMiniGo, and if they eventually do away with front plates, I remain un-drilled and good-to-go.

Previously, I street-drove a Caterham Seven "clubman." There is literally no place to mount a U.S. dimension plate that didn't either drag on the ground or block the radiator. I went without, but always carried the front in the boot (renewal stickers and all). I was never stopped nor had a problem going through annual inspections.

It is not a requirement in AZ and a second plate is not issued unless you pay for a vanity plate. My vanity plate is hanging on the wall.

...when in TX, I was given a ticket for not having the front plate...the beauty of this deal was that it was a new car and the dealer only gave us one plate...wtf...

Up here in the Yankee part of the state they're pretty aggressive about enforcement. The Vette was routinely targeted and zapped with warning tickets and one final cash one so we have the required plates on all of the vehicles. Except for the Vette and Silverado, they're drilled .

Yes, it is a sate requirement, but I have yet to be pulled over for it in the Austin area in over 2 and half years. But, that being said, I probably would be caught one day, thus I am not going to screw the plate down to the bumper. There is one you can get that screws to the tow hook area in front for about $30. So no worries. Get that and there is no holes in your frame.
