Ancira?

If your in SA and ordered / accepted delivery / through Ancira how would you rate your experience?

I have never dealt with Ancira and am curious about them and your experience with your Smart.

We reservered our car this weekend at the dealer, and my mother reserved one as well.

We have been told our configuration call would be a year out, and I noticed some errors on my printout from the dealer but ausume no problem with correcting at configuration time.

I also get an error message whenever I try to check estimated delivery date online.

Estimated ETA Date:
Your vehicle delivery date cannot be estimated at this time.

It is important to note that the DDE does not reflect any potential changes in vehicle production, distribution and Reservation Holder cancellations. Any of these factors could change your estimated delivery date. Please continue to check the Delivery Date Estimator from time to time for updated information. ...

We have 2 smarts from Ancira. Both are orphans. The car I ordered back in April 07 not here yet. We dealt with Jonathan and Katie. Both were very good, no problems. I would suggest getting an orphan. It took no time at all for us to get 2 cars. If you are not too picky about options, and are ready to buy at a moments notice, you could be driving with a big smile on your face in a couple of weeks. If you want an orphan talk to all of the sales people you can. When we got ours there was no master list. Each salesperson had a list of cars they were trying to move. Call and stop by often. If they know who you are and what you want they will call you. Hope this helps.

I second what mike-in-sa said. That's how I got mine. Called enough to be bothersome so they finally broke - that and the only thing I absolutely had to have was A/C and gauge pod. I got a Passion so that was my A/C, then I added the gauge pod myself - 30 minutes tops to do it. If I did it again, I can do that in 10 minutes.

Of course I'm not in SA, talked to in-laws today there and they say they've seen quite a few of you guys running around.

It takes time to show up on the DDE. Even then the dates for some have changed several times. Guess it's time to learn one of the most important things about trying to buy a smart. Patience. I have no patience. After a year of waiting and another 8 to 10 months to go ... I adopted an orphan.
