Stopped by Classic in Round Rock today to see how things are coming along with their new Smart franchise and was happy to meet Jordan Metteauer who will be one of their sales reps when they open up. He said they were supposed to open today but things were running behind (of course) though I was able to go and take a look at thier new space. It is located in theNE corner of the Rock Creek Shopping Plaza, just south of their curent location (I-35 and Old Settlers). The outside of the building is painted black but the interior looks just like the gallery photos of the San Diego store. With any luck they will be up and running in the next few days.

Welcome! I usually pass through Georgetown on my way to Kerrville but will be heading to Houston next week instead.

Hey John and Fred thanks for the nice greeting. I was in Scottsdale in November and stopped by Penske's conglomerate dealership to ask about Smarts but the receptionist at the on site museum had no information, therefore I was left to look at Bentleys, Jags, Lambos, Ferraris, Aston Martins, and the like. It really is an impressive facility and the museum is awesome for a gearhead. I hope to get a silver/silver/black passion before April. There is another trip scheduled to San Diego (1,300 miles) and I would like to drive the Smart if its here by then. In college I drove a '59 Morris Minor Traveller (40 hp) and hopefully the Smart will be as much fun.

Hi Jerrod and all you CenTex folks. Last two days I drove by Classic just to see if the sign was up. Yea, I got it bad... Today I showed great restraint, but now I am sitting here wondering if it is finally up yet. Anyway I know I have a pretty long wait, but it is going to be nice to see the show get going. Hope to meet some of you folks at some point. It appears we should have a pretty large number of smarts invading the area.

Jordan @ Classic indicated that the reservations from this area were very strong and that Classic is slated to be the #1 dealership in Texas. It seems pretty curious since Houston and Dallas are so much larger though not nearly as cool.

Ok, I could not resist. I drove by this evening and the sign is now up for the Classic smart dealership. Bring on the cars.
