Interesting location.....in Round Rock

It made me grin to see the somewhat different location of the Round Rock Smart Center, right next door to the Dollar General store. On one hand it just seems sort of appropriate that one of the lowest priced cars in America is being sold from such a location, on the other hand it seems ironic that many applicants were turned down and this store is in a strip mall of sorts, especially with all the other requirements and hoops dealers had to jump through to become authorized.

The current location will be a temporary location. Sounds like they are going to build a stand alone building across IH35 from the current Classic dealership.

My number is 1183. I received an e-mail from Smart on Feb 1st that said the following:

Great News! We are excited to inform you that your smart fortwo is scheduled
to arrive in the United States within the next 30 days. You will be one of the
first customers to experience this amazing vehicle in the United States. Based
on your address of record, your order has been assigned to

smart center Round Rock
2132 N Mays
Round Rock, TX 78664

So, might get my smartcar in March sometime.

Cars delayed at port!

The dealer told me that there is a holdup at the port and no cars will arrive for about 3 or 4 weeks. So, looks like delivery may be 3rd or 4th week in March.

Hello from Johnson City

Picked up our Yellow passion coupe in Round Rock on Wed. Mar 5. Drove it to Marble Falls Thurs. afternoon. Wind was terrible going north on Hwy 281. Driving south was much easier.

Got it to make the Johnson City to Austin run more economical, and our UT grad student daughter will drive it in the big city.

Any other Hill Country owners?

Picked up my Passion (Yellow/Black/Black) on Friday 3/14.Also had the wind blow me around a bit on Hwy 29 & 281. This car was #36 delivered by Roundrock Smart, so they must have gotten at least 16 more cars during March as the total had been 20. Someone took delivery of a Red/Black Passion as I drove up to the Dealer on Friday.

Ours was #21 for Roundrock on 3/5. Congratulations.

Am interested in your higher speed highway stability findings.

The projected weather report of "hail" this eveing caused me to keep the smart in the garage today but will be driving it to work on Hwy 71 later in the week and will report back.
