Smart San Antonio

Went by Smart San Antonio today. They had 5 cars on the lot (demos) Had only delivered 3 cars so far. Only one load had been brought in. They gave me a smart cap. Asked if I had any questions. The only question I had, they couldn't answer - When do I get my car? Said if the tension gets to me to come in and go for a test drive. Maybe next week.

Yeah, I went for a ride with Jonathan last week because I was curious about the speed bump issue. I found one and took it at about 20 and it damn near broke every tooth in my head. I pegged the tach a couple of times and that seemed okay too. I think I kind of freaked Jonathan out a little but hey, It's a demo and that can either stand for demonstration or demolition.

I still really like it in spite of that, the crappy warranty and the insane info-blackout wait time.

I didn't get a cap but maybe they should consider giving out smart socks for those of us getting cold-feet.

I picked up my Smartcar Jan 24th in SA. Jonathan was the best. A Passion; white with black tridion and red interior. Ordered it March 19, 2007. Can't believe I actually own one. It's perfect for Midland.

Cool!

I was pawing your car when it still had the shrinkwrap on.

Midland is a good drive from SA. How did it go?

SA not so good for us 450'ers...

I called the Smart Dealer in San Antonio today...the gave me the number for Smart service, when I tried it, the service people put me back to thee dealer...who told me they can't even order parts for pre-2008 Smarts! Not even Tires...bummer! I've probably talked to 300-500 people about my Smart...always with good to say...guess I'll have to add that they are only concerned with selling the new ones, and not really a part of the Smart mindset!!No wonder hey have only delivered three, while Round Rock has delivered 18 as of last Wednesday. And of course, n o way they would tell me where I am on the list for my new one...which I may have to re-think!

John... contact Paul at Classic Round Rock.. aka ClassicSmarts here on SCOA

Be patient... there are serious issues with the new dealers even getting 451 parts right now... give it 6 months and I am sure they will expand as the market demands...

Yeah I live in San Antonio TX and have been hesitant to go get a smart because of the long waits. Its nice though because some of the Hotels in San Antonio have smartcars you can take around town on errands if you are staying at that hotel.
