smartcentersugarland.com just came on line. It is good news for us in Houston. It should be in the MB dealer if not then very near to it. The roadshow was held at the MB sugarland dealer. I hope to hear from them soon. I'm not 1173 but 1181. I try to go by this weekend to see what is
going on.

I went to the smartcenter Sugarland this afternoon. They were just doing the finishing touches to their new showroom. None of the sale people were there. I went next door to the Mercedes dealer and talked with their receptionist. She said the smartcenter would be open on Monday. She also said they were be getting their first shipment of cars late next week. She gave me some smart brochures. I went ahead and signed up on-line for a test drive. Hopefully I will get to do that next Saturday!

SPDYII, you beated me to it. Thank you for the info. I did signed up for the test drive on line yesterday and I got a generic relpy that they'll be contacting me. I'll try to go by Monday to check it out.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that the Houston smartcenter would be a north Houston address, or The Woodlands.

My reservation number is 1325 so I may or may not get a car this year, depending on cancellations and production.

I wonder if the market for smarts is large enough to support two Houston dealerships.

They should be open by the end of the month. So far Dan Driscoll seems less then excited but maybe he is just to busy right now. I hope that is the case.

Newbie here. Glad I stumbled across this site as I was just about to jump into a used SMART. Have they made any promises as to how fast the orders for the 2008's will be filled??

It looks like if you haven't made a reservation yet you probably won't be able to get 2008. Back to your question. No there have been no promises made about delivery. They are suppose to be delivered (roughly) in reservation order.

Thanks for the response. My son is wanting one real bad, so I might just have to pick up the used one. But now that I know new ones are on their way, I'll be renegotiating the price on the used one for sure.

There is another option if you still want a 2008. There will be people that have reservation and for whatever reason cancel their order (orphans). No one knows yet how the dealers will handle this. At some point in time the dealers will have some cars on the lot for sale. I don't know if they will mark them up or not. It may very per dealer. It is best to check with your local dealer when they open.
