As I said, it mostly might not be an issue to powder coat (assuming the place you use does the job correctly) - but these roads have been known to bend stock BMW and better wheels, so I'd rather err on the side of caution then potentially make these little wheels (wheels described as part of the safety system, which I'm waiting to find out more about) even a bit more prone to failure.

Who knows, my mindset may change for this car once I do know more about these particular wheels and local options, I am accustomed to considering wheels for heavier higher performance vehicles and different use.

I am not a technical car guy so this thread has been really helpful. I had no idea you could powder coat (or paint) the existing rims. It just never occurred to me. I assumed you had to buy something new. Putting some color there would sure make the car look cool. Thanks for the information. I'll be looking for a shop that can do it now.
