In some countries "cutting off" someone is different. In many places lines on the road are considered "suggestions." Looking at the top photo, it's apparant the truck's driving a couple feet over the line - not changin lanes, not "too wide," just "over."
There's nothing like being rear-ended when the first thing that happens is the tailgate either slams up (into your knees) or shears off into the compartment. I was impressed with how well my closed smart held up to being backed into by an SUV. I'd hate to see what it would have been like if the gate were open.
kind of reminds me of the story of the smart that rolled over recently. while there are lots of idiots out there that do NOT take kindly to smarts passing them, there are, in my opinion, an equal number of idiot smart owners that feel they have 'something to prove' and go out of their way to pass someone OR NOT get passed by someone in a larger vehicle.
In Iran the largest vehicle has the right of way and if both are the same size the one whose nose is ahead has the right of way. The only other traffic law I ever saw observed over there was a vehicle entering a traffic circle has the right of way. People over there (Iran) drive like we walk in a crowd.
