That is adorable! I have been trying and trying to find a Santa hat to fit Einstein. Did you make yours? If so, do you have any tips for me on how to keep it on and what did you use on yours?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Macy

My mom made the hat from instructions forwarded to me by a fellow SCOA member. The link is How-To: Make a RichHelms Santa Hat for your smart - Club smart Car. You do need to update the measurements to the 451 model.

The materials ran about $40 and it took an afternoon to make. I decided to use an elastic strap that runs through the doors at the top of the windshield and connects with velcro in the middle of the car. There is also a small elastic strap with a velcro fastener that wraps around the rear wiper. However, these straps are just to keep it on top of the car while stationary (windy day, etc.), but I wouldn't try to drive at any speed (5-10 mph) with the hat on. I also have a garbage bag partially filled with air underneath the hat to give it a little height.

Thanks! We're sci-fi fans and since we were already calling the smart, the 'pod', a play on escape pod seemed appropriate!

I stapled velcro to the front of my hat and stuck the other half on the glass and now I can drive aroud town at 65 mph no problem!
