Awesome! Yeah I thought it added a nice aerospace touch. ;) It's also kind of a joke about the smart being small and asking people not to 'step on me' whilst driving on the highway, but mostly it's a nod to aerospace. Not everyone gets it, but it helps the look either way.
I'm planning on getting a vinyl cutter (still in the research phase deciding which cutter to get), so I may re-size some things, but overall this is the look I am going with, basically a 'mini shuttle'. What I plan to do still is add a billet/riveted gascap cover with a centered 'radiation' logo on there, not sure what color vinyl for the radiation logo yet. Possibly something subtle and reflective, or a dark gray or maybe just basic black. I wanna keep the color-scheme down to white, black and small red highlights. I know the shuttle has some flat-rust-colored boosters so it might be fun to find a part I can paint that color.
I'm still debating how to tint it. One idea I have is to do simple black tint, 35% or so on the small side windows, 50% on the back so I can see out of it at night.
I'm also toying with gold-reflective tint on the rear and side-rear windows, but this could look crazy....would fit the Nasa theme tho.
I know that U.S. flags on the right sides of vehicles should always be backward as if flying back in the wind, but I don't think a lot of people would get that. I'm trying to avoid vandalism via ignorance since I can't be there to explain that to people when it's parked. The big flag decals on there now are reflective too, which is pretty sweet.
Any other ideas are welcome.
